The following organizations received a donation from the Crane Fund on behalf of the associates in Malta:
Id-Dar tal-Providenza was founded by Mgr. Michael Azzopardi in 1965 with the aim of offering individualised residential services to persons with disabilities in a family-like environment which maximises their abilities with a view to ensuring their full participation in society.
Set up in 2009 following a merger between Eden Foundation and Razzett tal-Hbiberija, the Inspire Foundation provides education, therapeutic and leisure services to individuals with various physical and intellectual disabilities.
The Puttinu Cares Cancer Support Group began from a desire to offer a holistic approach of care for families with children suffering from cancer. The charity relies on and is grateful for sponsors and generous donations from the public, who also participate regularly in fund raising activities. Today the children’s oncology ward is housed in the Rainbow Ward at the Mater Dei Hospital, being the new General Hospital in Malta since 2007. The professional staff of the ward work hand in hand with the dedicated team members and volunteers of Puttinu Cares who are always willing to provide whatever is needed to the cancer sick children and their respective families going through this very difficult period in their lives.
The Malta Hospice Movement was founded on 4th January 1989. Hospice Malta’s primary role is to provide and promote palliative care for persons with cancer, motor neurone disease, end of life respiratory, cardiac, renal and renal disease. Hospice Malta also helps and supports the respective families of these patients.
