Crane Currency Malta achieves Guardian® Printer Accreditation

PolyTeQ Services, on behalf of CCL Secure Pty Ltd, has certified Crane Currency Malta as an Accredited Guardian® Printer (AGP). The print facility has undertaken a plant review and gap analysis, which concluded the facility, has in terms of equipment, processes and skills all the requirements necessary for the production of Guardian® banknotes of the recommended quality standard.

In addition, Crane Currency has successfully completed a FAT and SAT using Guardian® polymer substrate. This included successfully passing an evaluation for finished banknote testing. As an Accredited Guardian® Printer, Crane Currency has undertaken to:

  1. Consult with PolyTeQ in planning and production for the first production run on Guardian®.
  2. Comply with all the technical requirements stipulated by CCL Secure Pty Ltd in order to receive and maintain accreditation, and
  3. Ensure that the banknotes it produces using Guardian® polymer substrate consistently conform to CCL Secure Pty Ltd recommended Guardian® polymer banknote specification as a minimum standard for the polymer banknotes it produces and supplies.

CCL Secure’s Guardian® polymer banknote specification has been developed over more than 27 years of circulation experience in many countries and ensures that the polymer banknotes meet performance expectations in circulation, while the technical requirements for accreditation ensure that the printer uses quality systems and processes to ensure that the Guardian® polymer banknotes it produces consistently meet the Guardian® polymer banknote specification. The Guardian® Printer Accreditation has been established by CCL Secure to ensure the quality and consistency of the Guardian® polymer banknotes produced by accredited printers.
